L4NE is Leaders Leading Leadership Learning in the North East. Our vision for our schools and region is that the system values and has the capacity to reform and improve itself.
L4NE combines first-hand strengths of leadership and experience in primary, secondary and special schools/academies with the proven track record of St Bede’s (a highly experienced NPQ Licensee) in leadership development.
St Bede’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College, Lanchester and St Anthony’s Sunderland are the lead schools at the heart of this partnership. By combining two leading Teaching Schools L4NE demonstrably offers provision with strong geographical reach. Both meet the lead school criteria i.e. “Outstanding” in all key Ofsted categories. St Bede’s and St Anthony’s are both well established and experienced teaching schools and have developed a network of strategic partners to lead professional training. Three other Teaching School alliances Sunningdale School, Sunderland (Special School), the Peterlee Partnership (40 Primary Schools) and St Mary's, Longbenton, Newcastle, strengthen our consortium to provide significant cross phase influence and reach within the North East region.
Our L4NE track record demonstrates a significant number of school leaders have successfully engaged in the NPQ leadership curriculum over the past 5 years. In 2018 - 2019 we are delivering Leadership Programmes to over 100 participants across the North East and Cumbria.
Scholarships are currently available for participants working in opportunity and category 5&6 areas.
Since June 2015 L4NE has managed leadership development of NPQs across the region. During this period, senior leaders from our partnership have been leading design, delivery and review of programmes. Our 2019 programme design very much reflects current educational thinking - for example evidence / research-based approaches to school improvement reflecting the 2019 Oftsed framework, EEF and Early Career Framework.
Our philosophy has been to provide a ‘blended’ approach across all 3 levels. ‘Face to face’ days, online learning, 360 diagnostic - combining leadership theory and practice alongside ongoing support towards final assessment.
